When to switch
Winter tires go on once it stays below 7°C, which is late October in Ottawa. Our winter swap season runs October 1 to November 30, and spring's runs April 15 to May 15. Book before the first snow: that week fills every shop in town.
Questions
What is the difference between on rims and off rims?
On rims means each tire is already mounted on its own wheel, so we only swap wheels: $15–$20 a tire. Off rims means one set of wheels for both seasons, so we take the old tires off, mount the new ones and balance them: $25–$35 a tire.
Do I need an appointment?
No, walk-ins are welcome. Booking online takes under a minute and holds your time, which matters in October and November.
How long does a tire change take?
About 30 minutes in the bay for a set of four.
Can you store my other set?
Yes, $80 a set per season. We keep them until your next swap.
